About This Experience

A catamaran behaves differently from a monohull, and on a day trip that matters more than it sounds. Two hulls means a flat, wide deck instead of a sloping one, far less roll at anchor, and space to sit apart from the people you did not come with. This one was built in 2025, so the boat is genuinely new rather than recently repainted.

The route is the coast-to-coast run: out past the famous town beach, along the shoreline for the view of the Rocca, the old-town alleys and the cathedral from the water, then a swimming stop directly in front of the Duomo. That stop is the reason to take this trip — treading water with the two Norman towers above you is the photograph that Cefalù is known for, taken from the one angle almost nobody has.

From there it runs west to Mazzaforno bay with the aperitivo served under way, and finishes off Kalura, a small inlet ringed by cliffs, for a last swim. Morning sailing is 09:30 to 12:30, afternoon 14:30 to 17:30.

At $58 it is priced with the cheapest shared boats despite the newer, larger craft, and the crew are used to mixed Italian and international groups. A skipper and a sailor-hostess both work the boat, so there are two people aboard rather than one.
